Highway Chile, who were one of the first Dutch heavy rock bands in the early eighties, are on the road again.

History
Highway Chile originally operated between 1980 and 1985. They released several popular albums such as Storybook Heroes (1983) and Fever (1984). In those years they toured intensively and shared the stage with big international acts like Motˆrhead, Whitesnake, Michael Schenker, Accept and Y&T. One of Highway Chileís closest fans was famous DJ Alfred Lagarde (Ü), who eventually also produced the Storybook Heroes album. With Picture, HelloÔse, Bodine, Vengeance and Vandenberg, Highway Chile were at the top of the Dutch heavy rock scene in the eighties.
In 1984 the original Highway Chile line-up fell apart. Some members continued on as Highway Chile, while Ernst van Ee and Ben Blaauw formed HelloÔse. Highway Chile held on for one more year with some new members. HelloÔse became even more famous but finally also split in 1989.

Today
In 2002 the reformed band toured all over Holland again and made a live recording which was released on CD with the appropriate title ìOn The Road Againî. It features the voice of Robert Soeterboek and the guitar sound of Attila Szabo (both were replaced in 2003). The reactions following this tour were so overwhelmingly positive that the band decided to go on and work on new songs. With new guitarist Gert Nijboer and vocalist Stan Verbraak (well known from HelloÔse) they selected the Excess studios for the creation of their new album entitled:îKeeper Of The Earthî.
In 2008 Marchell Remeeus (also ex-HelloÔse) replaced Edwin den Haag to become their new bassplayer.
As Alfred Lagarde used to say: ìRock and Roll is better than musicÖ..î And these guys rock!
